Ingrain carpet originated in Scotland and the northern United Kingdom. Kilimarnock, Kidderminster, Scotch or as more popularly known in the States as ingrain carpet, became the most widely used type of floor covering in the United States by the end of the 19th century. We have reproduced over 30 documented patterns, the earliest from the V & A musuem dating from 1768, to Morris patterns from the 1880's, and examples from the early 20th Century. Being of all wool construction and woven flat in 2 or 3 ply weaves. Currently nine presidential homes and many historically significant homes are using our carpets.
